Welcome Week Update:

We have several all-freshman events scheduled to welcome freshmen to UT Tyler. These events are intended to get freshmen connected early and to help the transition from summer break to the start of school. Event details are listed below:

Friday, Aug. 22

Day of Service - UT Tyler freshmen will have an opportunity to serve the Tyler community by volunteering at the East Texas Food Bank from 1-2:30 p.m. Transportation from campus will be provided. Please arrive at the University Center lobby at 12:15pm so that we can leave campus by 12:30pm. Please note you must wear closed-toed shoes.

Saturday, Aug. 23

All-Freshman Casino Night - Take this opportunity to reconnect with your Orientation Leaders and have fun before school begins. Snacks and prizes will be provided. The Casino Night will take place in the University Center Ballroom from 7-10 p.m.

Sunday, Aug. 24

Brunch & Budgeting - Join us on the UC Patio (outside the MET) for breakfast and budgeting. Our Student Money Management office will help you create a budget for your first semester and you have the opportunity to earn prizes!

Classroom Tours - This is a more specialized campus tour. OLs will help you find exactly where your classes are located so the first day of school is smooth. Bring your class schedule and make sure it has the locations listed so that we can help you find your way around. Meet in the University Center at 6 p.m.

Welcome Week Door Decorating Contest - The freshman summer book, My Freshman Year, has inspired us to have a door decorating contest. You have your entire first week to decorate. Judging will be held on Friday, August 29 and prizes will be given for the top three doors. Creativity counts - show us who you are!
