Bachelor of Arts in English
The study of English provides excellent preparation for careers in a wide variety of fields. With a firm grounding in the liberal arts, English majors are readied for any career that requires critical reading, orderly and clear thinking, and effective writing.
The B.A. in English is the degree most preferred by law schools. Graduates also are well prepared to pursue graduate studies in English or other disciplines to become professors and researchers.Objectives
The mission of the English program is to graduate students who have mastered the principles of writing and textual interpretation, who have a sound knowledge of the development of human intellectual culture through literature, and who have developed the ability to create and analyze literary works intelligently.
