UT Tyler Recreational Sports

Community Bike Program

UT Tyler Outdoor Adventures began the Community Bike Program in the fall of 2011, with 15 bikes donated by Spokes for Folks from the Dallas area.

The university currently has in circulation 25 community bikes of all shapes and sizes. Each is painted blue and bears the Community Bike label.

These bikes are designed for use by everyone in the campus community and are considered community property. Anyone can a ride a community bike around campus and leave it at the nearest bike rack before going inside.

The program is to encourage students and staff to use alternative transportation other than cars to get around campus.
