Why did you choose to attend UT Tyler?
I chose to attend UT Tyler because UT Tyler offered the graduate program that I, as a City employee, was most interested in. Not only does UT Tyler offer a Masters in Public Administration program, but the institution has an excellent reputation in the municipal arena.
What are your career goals and how does your graduate program support them?
Currently, I serve as the Assistant City Manager at the City of Longview. In that position, the following divisions fall under my purview: Human Resources, Risk Management, Municipal Court, and the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center. While obtaining my MPA degree, I learned many things that will help me move to the next level within City Administration.
What do you like most about UT Tyler?
Beyond the excellent reputation of the MPA program at UT Tyler, the most appealing thing about the The University of Texas at Tyler is the variety of course offerings that meet the schedule demands of professionals. UT Tyler has a satellite campus in Longview, the Longview University Center. That availability, along with online courses and classroom study, provide multiple options for students attempting to fit a graduate education into a hectic lifestyle.
