Why did you choose to attend UT Tyler?

UT Tyler is a great university with a lot of opportunities. I knew I wanted to do a thesis and the H&K faculty are very knowledgeable and supportive. Since the program is smaller, I have the opportunity to really get to know the professors and get the help I need to succeed in this program. I also really enjoy being able to tailor the program to my goals and research the topics I am most passionate about.

What are your career goals and how does your graduate program support them?

I would like to get in to the field of Epidemiology. One of the Health Sciences faculty members was an epidemiologist and really promotes what job opportunities there are using this degree. One great part of this program is that the faculty have real-world experience in what they are teaching and encourage you to gain as much experience as you can while in the program.

What do you like most about UT Tyler?

I really like the atmosphere and the faculty support. I am passionate about having a Tobacco-Free campus and the faculty connected me with a group that I could start on campus to achieve this goal. With hard work and a little bit of luck, we will have a Tobacco-Free campus by the time I graduate.
