What attracted you to this field?
I have been an RN for a long time and enjoy helping people. Becoming a nurse practitioner was a way for me to increase my knowledge base and capability for doing so.
Why did you choose UT Tyler?
Convenience and cost. The hybrid program appealed to me.
What do you like most about UT Tyler?
Approachable knowledgeable instructors
What are your career aspirations?
Right now, I am doing what I want: working in family practice. In the future, I would like to work more with caregivers, continuing research I began while at UT-Tyler. Practicing in a more rural setting is another interest of mine.
What's your work experience?
Currently, I work in a private practice, seeing a variety of patients of all ages.
Do you have any advice to pass along to other students interested in this program?
As with anything, be realistic and do your homework. Then really look at yourself and your life honestly to see if you and this program are a good fit for each other.
