Job Title: Assistant Professor of Technology
Department: Department of Human Resource Development and Technology

Status: Active

Applications are invited for an Assistant Professor position in the Department of Technology within the College of Business and Technology at the University of Texas at Tyler beginning August, 2015.  The Department offers the BS in Industrial Technology and the MS in Industrial Management.

Requirements include a Doctorate in Industrial Technology, Industrial Management, Technology Management or closely related field.  Candidates should provide evidence of strong research and interpersonal skills, a commitment to excellence in teaching and advising, and the capacity to effectively interact with business, industry, and government organizations.  Involvement in professional associations such as the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) is also important.

Evidence of a background in teaching areas such as industrial plastics, PLCs, and manufacturing is preferred or a solid background in lean six sigma quality or supply chain management.  Industrial experience and/or academic teaching experience in one or more of these areas would be preferable.

Job Title: Assistant Professor or Senior Assistant/Associate Professor
Department: Department of Computer Science

Status: Active

Applications are invited for two positions in the Department of Computer Science and Computer Information Systems in the College of Business and Technology at the University of Texas at Tyler beginning August 2015.  One position is for an Assistant Professor and the other is for a Senior Assistant/Associate Professor.

The successful candidate will establish a strong, research program in research areas to complement existing departmental strengths including externally funded research.  All areas of Information Systems will be considered with a preference for cybersecurity, information assurance, systems analysis and design, data analytics, database systems, data mining, and networking.  Participation in departmental, college, and university committees and outreach programs is expected; collaborative research with other faculty and institutions is strongly encouraged.

Requirements include a Ph.D. in computer information systems, demonstrated research creativity and productivity, ability to develop a strong research program, evidence of effective teaching and other communication skills.  For an appointment at the Associate level, the successful candidate must have an established research and teaching portfolio.
