Q: How long do I have to complete the test?

A: You will have four hours to complete the test. Time will be announced each hour, the last 15 minutes, and the last 5 minutes.

Q: After the test has been scored, can I have my old test booklet?

A: No, the tests must remain confidential and are shredded at the conclusion of the test administration.

Q: When and how will I be notified of my score?

A: You will receive a letter during the week following the test that will indicate whether you passed or not. Additionally, your score will be stated in the letter.

Q: May I bring food or drinks with me when taking the test?

A: Bottled water is the only drink allowed. Food is not permitted.

Q: May I write in the test booklet?

A: You cannot write in the test booklet.

Q: I might have signed up for the wrong test. May I take a different test instead?

A: No, you must take the test you signed up for. The tests are printed based upon registration information. There are no extra tests.

Q: I arrived a couple of minutes after the start time of 9:00 a.m. Can I still take the test?

A: No, you will not be allowed to take the test on this test day. In all fairness to the test-takers that arrived on time, the test begins at 9:00 a.m. sharp. You may contact Bonnie Pearson at (903) 566-7283 and arrange for your testing fee to be applied to the next Practice TExES administration.

Q: The test has already started but I need to go to the restroom. What should I do?

A: Only one person may leave the room at any given time. Raise your hand and a test proctor will allow you go to the restroom if possible. Additionally, if you need to get a drink of water or need a tissue, raise your hand and a test proctor will assist you.

Q: I accidentally broke the seal on my test booklet before the test began. What should I do?

A: Take your test to the test administrator. Another seal will be placed on the test booklet.

Q: May I keep my purse and/or coat with me?

A: No, all personal belongings must be placed at the back of the room until after you have completed the test.

Q: May I use a testing aid such as a highlighter?

A: No, you may not use any testing aids including pens, dictionaries, calculators, highlighter pens, rulers, translators, electronic devices, etc.

Q: Where should I sit?

A: Only two people may sit at a table. Additionally, you may not sit next to anyone that is taking the same test.

Q: What should I do when I finish my test?

A: You may leave as soon as you are finished. Take your test booklet, scantron, scratch paper, and pencils that were loaned to you to the test proctor at the back of the room.
