Race to the Top, the Florida Student Success Act
If you are an education major who is interested in learning how to engage in qualitative research and want to learn more about Florida teachers' perceptions of a new component of Race to the Top, the Florida Student Success Act, you might be a good fit for one of Dr. Swain's research projects. You can email Dr. Swain at firstname.lastname@example.org regarding your interest, any qualifications you have for this research task and she'll set up a time when for a visit. This would be a wonderful opportunity to gain research experience as an undergraduate or graduate education student.
Response to Intervention (RtI)
Are you passionate about the issues facing teaching and learning in today's society? Dr. Julie Delello, Assistant Professor in the College of Education would like to work with an undergraduate student or graduate student who would like the opportunity to participate in a qualitative research project. Through narrative inquiry, this project will highlight the stories of teachers who work with students identified as needing additional support through a Response to Intervention (RtI) Model.
The student researcher will have the opportunity to learn specific social science research techniques including developing and maintaining a literature data base, writing and administering both quantitative and qualitative assessments, data collection, entry, and analysis. If interested, please contact Dr. Delello at email@example.com.
