Freshman Advising - Tonya Gaddis
I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in psychology from Belhaven University and recently received my Master's in criminal justice from UT Tyler. I have enjoyed working at UT Tyler since 2008 and in 2011, accepted a position as an academic advisor with the Academic Success Department. I currently advise first time freshmen pursuing degrees in the arts, sciences, education, and psychology. College can be overwhelming, and it is my desire to assist my advisees in their transition from high school and be a knowledgeable contact on campus for them. I love encouraging freshmen students to explore their options and achieve their academic goals!
I have a diverse taste in music, movies, and literature and enjoy talking to students about their varied interests. I am interested in art and photography as well and have several student art pieces in my office. I am a creative person and enjoy meeting and talking to a variety of people, and I look forward to meeting you!
"Millions of men have lived to fight, build palaces and boundaries, shape destinies and societies; but the compelling force of all times has been the force of originality and creation profoundly affecting the roots of the human spirit." –Ansel Adams, photographer
