Application Instructions
-
Apply. Once you have selected your program, submit the Study Abroad Application. The non-refundable application fee will be assessed to your account about one-week after your application is submitted.
-
Confirm Passport Status. Make sure it's valid at least 6 months before and after your planned trip. Students requiring a passport or passport renewal may apply at the UT Tyler Passport Acceptance Agency.
-
Submit supporting documents. Students participating in study abroad are required to submit the following: Course Pre-approval Form (exchange/affiliate), Payment Agreement, Release and Indemnification Agreement (Appendix C), Release of Liability, Health Clearance Form, copy of passport, copy of visa (if applicable), and copy of flight itinerary.
-
Scholarships. We recommend applying for as many scholarships as possible. The Office of international Programs offers two scholarships for you, and we provide a list of other notable available options. We still recommend doing some research for other available scholarships that you can find with a quick internet search.
-
Attend Pre-Departure Meeting. An advisor will set up a meeting with you/your group prior to departure to go over safety and security matters. They will also make sure you have completed all required paperwork and submitted all proofs of insurance and STEP enrollment, as well as providing you with emergency contact details for while you're abroad.
-
Study Abroad Fairs. Interested in meeting with an advisor and affiliate partners to learn about the plethora of study abroad options? Check back soon for more details to our next event!
