Apply for Financial Support
The University of Texas at Tyler is proud to provide financial assistance to as many qualified, admitted students as possible. Please refer to our Financial Support page for details about graduate scholarships.
Admitted domestic graduate students can apply for federal financial aid by submitting the FAFSA. Once you have submitted the FAFSA, you will need to indicate your expected enrollment for the upcoming terms. This information will be used to calculate your estimated Cost of Attendance for the approaching academic year. To indicate your expected enrollment:
- Log into your myUTTyler account and navigate to your Student Center
- Click on “View Financial Aid”
- Select the appropriate aid year
- Click on Expected Enrollment
- Select your planned level of enrollment for both the Fall and Spring semester sections (and Summer if applicable). The chart above the enrollment blocks will help you in your selection for the correct enrollment based on how many credit hours you plan to enroll for the specified semester.
- Check the box for "I understand that this form may only be submitted once and that all provided information is complete and correct."
- Click Submit
Questions about this process can be directed toward the Office of Financial Aid at enroll@uttyler.edu or 903.566.7180.
Find a Place to Live
Choosing to live on campus at The University of Texas at Tyler will make your college experience even more well-rounded, convenient and fun. If preferred, students are welcome to live off campus, though UT Tyler cannot guarantee the quality or performance of unaffiliated housing.
Consult Your Academic Advisor
Your academic advisor can help guide you through your degree plan to make sure that you are on the right track to graduation. You can find the contact information for your program’s advisor by selecting your major from our list of graduate programs.
Enroll in Courses
Students can enroll in courses through their myUTTyler account. The Office of the Registrar offers step-by-step registration tutorials on their website. Bills are posted a few weeks before the start of each semester, and you can pay through myUTTyler or our Cashiers Office. Don't forget — you must read and accept the terms of the Student Financial Responsibility Agreement located in your “To Do List” in your myUTTyler Student Center before your financial support will be packaged!
Buy Your Books
After enrolling, you can click the “Order Your Textbooks” button located on the right side of your myUTTyler Student Center to find out which books you need. Textbooks can be purchased or rented from the Campus Bookstore.
