The mission of the Office of Compliance is to promote ethical conduct and compliance awareness throughout the health care, academic, and research operations within The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler (also referred to as UT Health Science Center).
The compliance program provides education, training, and guidance to UT Health Science Center faculty, staff, and students and fosters adherence to federal and state laws, regulations, and standards; the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Regents of the UT System; and the policies and standards of conduct of UT Health Science Center.
Specifically, the program is designed to:
- Prevent accidental and intentional violations of law, regulations, standards, rules and UT Health Science Center and UT System rules, policies and procedures
- Detect violations if they occur
- Correct activities that may lead to future non-compliance
Each UT Health Science Center faculty, staff, and student is responsible for promoting a culture of compliance with laws, regulations, standards, rules, policies, and ethical standards.
